COHEAO is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar, “DREAMers: An Overview of DACA, the Impact of the New Administration, and Updates for Campus Administrators,” rescheduled for this Thursday, August 31 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Eastern Time. Jessica Cordisco of Drexel University will present a general overview of the “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” program (commonly known as DACA), and review the impact the recent executive order on immigration has had for those in this status. Beyond explaining DACA and the recent executive order, this presentation will explain how these broader issues affect campus administrators, particularly those involved in student aid. As the Director of International Students and Scholar Services (ISSS) at Drexel University, Cordisco is responsible for overseeing ISSS programs and services such as immigration and cultural and academic concerns provided to international students, scholars, staff and faculty at Drexel. She is also responsible for advising and serving as the signatory for the foreign national’s H1-B and permanent residency applications for scholars, professional staff and faculty. She is also an active member of NAFSA, the Association of International Educators and the Philadelphia Area International Educators Network (PAIEN).
